A floating head negotiates mental illness and bipolar moods to overcome a pit of depression, struggle through visual hallucinations in their apartment, discuss life with other psych ward patients, and be discharged. After the hospital they go to the park where they try to remain enough to get a hot dog. If they end up going too high they end up cycling back from the apartment mania, and too low they go right back to the pit of depression. A touching and engaging learning experience with bipolar disorder for both people living with it, and their loved ones who want to understand more.
Since 1995 Thirza Cuthand has been making short experimental narrative videos and films about sexuality, madness, Queer identity and love, and Indigeneity, which have screened in festivals and galleries internationally.
