Braided Together

Tenaya has just moved to Thunder Bay in the middle of grade 12. She has struggled with making friends in the past so she is trying a different approach this time with her mother’s encouragement. Unfortunately, her potential new friend Autumn’s mother won’t allow her in their house. Having dealt with racism and exclusion in the past, Tenaya feels this is the cause and is heartbroken again. Nevertheless, Tenaya curiously follows Autumn after school the next day and realizes the situation is not what it seems. Autumn’s household has been greatly affected by grief. As a result of her perseverance, she not only helps Autumn’s family but also makes her first new friend.
