Below-the-Line Mentorship: Calgary

Are you an Indigenous creative in the Calgary area interested in gaining experience as a Props, or Set Dec Trainee on a Netflix production?

Applications are open now for the below-the-line mentorship program. This training opportunity is designed for an Indigenous creative in the Calgary area working or aspiring to work in the Film + Television industry. We are looking for 1 Indigenous Creative located in the Calgary area to participate in this on-set training program. Preparation training for this opportunity will begin promptly after the selection process, and the mentorship will take place over a 12-week period. The tentative start date for the selected trainee to be placed in their department on the production is April 15, 2024.

Upon confirmation of participation, the trainee will be required to complete the following courses in preparation for the mentorship:

– WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System)

– Netflix Production 101 Training

– 212 Set Etiquette Course

– 212 Permit Information Package

Applicants do not need experience working in the film Industry, as transferable skill sets will be considered during the selection process.

This is a paid training opportunity. The selected participant will receive additional support to alleviate the costs of transportation fees, equipment kit fees, living expenses, and child or dependent care if applicable.

 

Eligibility:

– The Selected participant must be First Nation, Inuit, or Métis

– The selected participant must be based in the Calgary area

– The selected participant must have availability throughout the scope of the mentorship

– The selected participant must be 18+
