ᎭᏫᎾᏗᏢ ᎤᏪᏴᎢ (beneath the stream)

This composition explores the relationship between the artist and the Roeliff Jansen Kill in Ancram, New York. It questions how a place can be known over time and if the listener can hear what the waters might be saying. The composition was created to better understand this section of the creek and to attempt to have a relationship with it.. Robbie Wing is an artist from Tulsa, Oklahoma. A citizen of the Cherokee Nation, his practice encompasses composition, sonic sculpture, and performance. His installation Cross Ties Song (2024) is currently on view at Tinworks Art in Bozeman, Montana.
