Indigenous Performing Art Alliance (IPAA), imagineNATIVE Film & Media Arts Festival, Thru the RedDoor and Seeing Red proudly present Actin REZ, a Symposium tailored for Indigenous actors. This collaborative program aims to empower and equip participants with essential skills and knowledge to thrive in the entertainment industry. From mastering audition techniques to navigating the transition from theatre to screen, join us for an immersive experience filled with learning, networking, and professional development from incredibly talented facilitators such as Darla Contois, Devery Jacobs, Cody Lightning, Cheri Maracle, and Sera-Lys McArthur.

Symposium Itinerary

Thursday, July 25:

  • 9:00am-10:00am: Continental Breakfast
  • 10:00am-12:00pm: Transitioning from Theatre to Screen
  • 12:00pm-1:00pm: Lunch
  • 1:00-3:00pm: In Front and Behind the Camera


Friday, July 26:

  • 9:00am-10:am: Continental Breakfast
  • 10:00am-12:00pm: Audition Techniques and Preparation
  • 12:00-1:00pm: Lunch
  • 1:00pm-2:30pm: Headshots

  • Audition Techniques and Preparation:

  • Transitioning from Theatre to Screen:
    Explore the nuances of transitioning between stage and screen performances.
  • In Front and Behind the Camera:
    Delve into the dynamics of working both in front of and behind the camera.
