Welcome to imagineNATIVE, a website found at https://imaginenative.org (the “Site”) and operated by the Centre for Aboriginal Media (Ontario) doing business as imagineNATIVE (“imagineNATIVE”, “we”, or “us”). imagineNATIVE is a registered charity (Charitable Number: 89893 8717 RR0001) committed to creating a greater understanding of Indigenous peoples and cultures through the presentation of contemporary Indigenous-made media art including film, video, audio and digital media. This Privacy Policy is intended to inform you about our policies and procedures regarding the collection, use, and storage of personal information we receive from visitors to our Site and from others who use engage with us or use our services (“you”). We understand and greatly value the importance of your privacy. We will only use your personal information in accordance with this Privacy Policy, unless otherwise required by applicable law.

A. Information You Provide Us.
In order to access and use our Site and our services you may be required to provide personal information. If you choose not to provide the personal information required, you may not be able to access certain portions of the Site or services. You may be asked to provide the following information:
- When you create a user account, you are required you to provide your name, email address and password. At your option, you may also provide a profile picture, birthdate, and organization with which you are affiliated.
- When you make a charitable donation or purchase through our Site, including the purchase of an imagineNATIVE membership, ticket package, or goods from our online shop, you are required to provide your name, email address, mailing address, and payment information.
- When you make a submission to the imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival, you are required to provide your name, phone number, email address, mailing address, birthday, and gender. You are also required to provide the name of your project, and the names of its directors, writes, producers and key cast receiving credits, as well as past credits they have received.
- When you subscribe to our newsletter you are required to provide your email address.
- When you communicate with us, whether through email, telephone, in-person, social media, in response to our surveys, or other communication platforms, we may collect the contents of any such communications and your contact information, including your name and email address.
- We reserve the right to request other types of information in the future
B. Information About Your Use of the Services.
Usage Information
We collect information about your use our services, such as the ways in which you use our Site, the way you respond to us when we send you emails or communications or your preferences when you interact with our Site.
Information We Collect Automatically When You Use the Services
When you access or use our Services, we automatically collect information about you, including:
- Log Information: We may collect technical data including your internet protocol (IP) address, your login data, browser type and version, time zone setting and location, and browser plug-in types and versions.
- Device Information: We may collect information about the computer or mobile device you use to access our Site, including the hardware model, operating system and version, unique device identifiers and mobile network information

We use the information we collect to provide, maintain and improve our Site and services, such as to administer your account and to optimize your use of our Site.

For example, we use third-party service providers to manage ticketing for events we organize, to process payments, and to help make the Site operate smoothly. - Legal and Safety Factors. We may disclose personal information if required by law or in the event we need to share information with a third-party in order to protect a person’s safety and security or the safety and security of us or our employees.

Our Site contains links to third-party social media websites, including Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, YouTube, TikTok, and Threads. When you purchase an imagineNATIVE membership, you are automatically directed to the website of our events ticketing provider, Elevent Solutions LLC. When you make a submission to the imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival, you are automatically directed to the website our festival submissions management provider, FilmFreeway. These third-party websites, and any websites accessed through our Site, have their own privacy policies and we have no control of or responsibility for the privacy practices of those third-parties. Visiting a third-party website may allow that third-party to collect or share information about you. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any third-party website you visit.
7. ADVERTISEMENTS
We may allow others to serve advertisements on our behalf across the Internet and to provide analytics services. These entities may use cookies, web beacons, device identifiers, session replay, and other technologies to collect information about your engagement with our advertisements, including your IP address, web browser, mobile network information, pages viewed, time spent on pages, links clicked and conversion information. Their collection and use of information is governed by their own privacy policies, over which we have no responsibility or control.
8. YOUR RIGHTS
By law you have the right to request access to and to correct the personal information that we hold about you. You may also have certain additional rights.
