Multi-hyphenate actor, creator, and producer Jennifer Podemski gained recognition for her breakthrough role as Sadie in Bruce McDonald’s celebrated film, Dance Me Outside.
In 1999, driven by her commitment to addressing Indigenous underrepresentation in the entertainment industry, Jennifer co-founded Big Soul Productions, Canada’s first full-service Indigenous-owned production company, which subsequently created North America’s first all-Indigenous drama series, Moccasin Flats.
In 2005, Jennifer founded Redcloud Studios Inc., creating award-winning projects including multiple seasons of Rabbit Fall, The Other Side, Future History, feature film Empire of Dirt, and the critically-acclaimed limited series Little Bird, which became the most nominated drama series in the history of the Canadian Screen Awards.
Jennifer continues to build on her work through her non-profit organization, The Shine Network Institute, which is dedicated to breaking down barriers for Indigenous women within the screen sector.
