Industry Days

Overview

Industry Days is imagineNATIVE’s annual professional development conference which takes place in June during the imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival, presenting panels, workshops, masterclasses, networking events, and more. Industry Days is an international hub for Indigenous filmmakers and industry professionals to come together to share, learn, and meaningfully connect with each other.

One of Industry Days’ flagship events is the annual Micro Meetings networking event, featuring meetings between industry leaders and Indigenous creatives. This event has grown exponentially each year and is very popular with both participants and leaders, Indigenous and non-Indigenous alike.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a Festival Pass to take part in Industry Days? How do I purchase one?

Yes. In-Person Festival Passes are required to take part in Industry Days and can be purchased at our Box Office.

What are Micro Meetings?

Each year during Industry Days at the Festival, the imagineNATIVE Institute presents Micro Meetings, a full-day international networking event. Micro Meetings is the world’s only market event of its kind dedicated to Indigenous screen and digital content. This exciting event provides Indigenous creatives with valuable face-to-face time with industry decision makers in various sectors of the screen industry.

How do I sign up for Micro Meetings?

Industry professionals (e.g. Festival programmers, curators, buyers, funders, sales agents, distributors, producers, developers, agents) who are interested in meeting with Indigenous creatives can apply to be a Micro Meetings leader. Indigenous creatives can apply to be a Micro Meetings participant. When applications are open, for both leaders and participants, they are posted on our Professional Development page.

In addition to registering via our application forms, Micro Meetings leaders and participants must also have an In-Person Festival Pass which can be purchased through our Box Office.

Can I take part in Micro Meetings online?

Yes. In addition to our in-person Micro Meetings event, we are also offering a virtual option which will take place on June 12, 2026 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM ET during the online Festival for those who are unable to attend in-person. Registration for the online Micro Meetings event will open on June 9, 2026 on our Professional Development page.

Whether you register to be a leader or a participant, please indicate on your application form (on our Professional Development page) whether you will be attending in-person, online, or both.
